    Sizzler

I’ve been there several times. Their soup is clearly marked as to
whether it’s gluten free or not. Of course, steaks are gluten free.
WATCH THE CHICKEN! Monterey or whatever the hell it’s called has a flour based coating. Little did I know, never occured to me that the crap was fried. They do have plain old oil & vinegar in their salad dressing area, so that’s safe. I don’t know about deserts. Potatoes of course are gluten free (unless you
can’t eat the skin, it’s not digestible..

    Just my 2 cents

We have been told be Sizzler managment that their steakes are NOT gluten free. They told us that the steakes are cut offsite and pre seasoned before being sent out to the stores, and the seasoning has gluten in it.

Donotos Pizza for those of us lucky enough to have them now offer true gluten free (pepperoni or cheese) pizzas–premade offsite in gluten free kitchen–packaged for take and bake. I am also dairy free so i had them make mine fresh (the crust is pre-made and shaped) without cheese. I had to get it take and bake due to cc in ovens though. For extrememy sensitive though, stick with the pre-made.

I’ve heard so many great things about the Donatos gluten free pizza, Amy. But yes, I would also recommend really sensitive people take theirs home and bake it themselves like you did.

Taco bells website has more gluten free items then you show. Like the three cantina bowls veggie, steak, or chicken by the way very good. Also the cool ranch chicken or spicy chicken dlt taco regular or supreme.

You have listed Burger King as having gluten free fries. They claim this as well but considering that they are often touching or mixed with their breaded onion rings the level of cross contamination is a serious concern.

How’s that? I’ve never seen onion ring breading ON s french fry.. Gluten isn’t bacteria…

For people with a serious allergy, even trace amounts of the allergen (e.g. gluten, peanuts, etc.) can cause a reaction. That’s why even if something is made without wheat, it may not be gluten-free; if those onion rings even touch the fries, the person eating the fries is still exposed to the gluten because the breading rubs off onto the fries.

The onion rings (or breaded anything) doesn’t need to touch the French fries. If they fry them in the same oil then the oil is contaminated from the breading or coating. For French fries to be gluten free, they generally have to have a dedicated fryer just for the fries.

If the gluten free item is cooked in the same oil as the gluten containing item cross contamination occurs and the gluten free item is no longer gluten free

Yes I eat them all the time! I have never had cross contamination. I usually get the grilled nuggest meal with fries sometimes coleslaw and I have eaten several of the sauces as well. ENJOY! 🙂

I was wondering if you could cover Corner Bakery Cafe (http://www.cornerbakerycafe.com/). They certainly don’t make it easy to find out the allergen info.

Wow it must suck to have gluten issues. I came on here to see where I could take my friends kiddo and this is just dismal. I tried giving her some gluten free chicken nuggets from Trader Joe’s and she said they were terrible so I thought I’d take her out but man the options are rough. Looking like Boston Market is our best bet.

Try Chick-fil-a. They have really great grilled chicken nuggets. Order more than you think they will eat because without the breading they are really small. My daughter is really, really gluten sensitive and she has no problem with the nuggets or the fries.

Hardee’s & Carl’s Jr. actually have a really good gluten free option on their Low-Cal menu and you can wrap the burger in lettuce, protein style. In sure if you ask they would do it with any of their burgers, just stray away from the chicken and fish sandwiches which are obviously breaded and fried. But hey the burgers are not disappointing. Not sure about fries and sauces there but will look more into it now that one has opened by my work place!

Eat n Park in Pennsylvania has gluten free buns for either burgers or to replace bread on the salad bar.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but the sonic list mentions chili, but Sonic’s website has an allergen list and states that wheat and gluten are present!

I stopped reading after just a couple of places I like or used to like. Arby’s for example, only listed naturally gluten free items. I had been so excited, thought Arby’s was serving gluten free breads. I know Red Robin has gluten free buns, but all the burgers said order no bun! So this list is basically worthless. Almost ANY restaurant can serve you something gluten free, if you will settle for a grilled chicken breast, plain burger and a salad. I thought this was a real list that would give us a illegitimate list.

I love to go to Red Robin. They have gluten free buns that are really good. Ask for gluten free fries as they have a designated fryer for them. The seasoning on the regular frees has gluren. The staff is very knowledgeable about gluten issues.
