Steaks have really been growing on me. I don’t know if it’s my switch from getting them cooked from well done to medium, or because I’ve been introduced to some high quality steaks, but I’ve been really enjoying steak these days.
And I must say, I also like LongHorn Steakhouse’s steaks as well. They are pretty darn good, especially for the reasonable prices.

Hello! I have frequented Longhorn since my celiac diagnosis, and I must warn all who go there for the Prime Rib (awesome) to order WITHOUT au jus (now stated to the right of the Prime Rib listing on Longhorn’s menu). Apparently, the au jus has flower used as a thickener, or that the seasoning in it is not gluten free, or the base is a grain alcohol, which I did not know. Wow, was I sick for two days. Great food every time I eat there, just remember no au jus for Prime Rib.

Thanks for the tip Scott!

I just ate the Redrock Shrimp with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies with a side Caesar salad and the abdominal cramping has already begun. Everything I ate was supposedly gluten free but my tummy says otherwise…heads up!

Hopefully you’re better Dougie

I had dinner at Longhorn tonight. I ordered off the gluten free menu and informed my waitress I had a gluten allergy. Thought all was well and then my side salad arrived with croutons. Our waitress was also less than attentive. When she finally realized my salad was untouched, I told her I could not eat it since I had a gluten allergy and it had croutons. She offered me another salad, and I specified that the kitchen needed to make a new one and that they could not just take off the croutons. So the salad arrived and I ate it. So far ok, but we shall see what happens. The whole experience was disappointing given they offer a gluten free menu.

So sorry to hear about your poor experience Amy. If only restaurant staff actually cared about us customers and our dietary needs

I had them double check the soups, because I was skeptical of the loaded potato soup. It is NOT gluten free and the shrimp and lobster chowder has modified starch.
