My big concern with gf at “fast food” restaurants is not that they offer something gf, it’s the cross contamination! I watched recently as a server did not change gloves and used food that had been consistently been touched with others’ cross contaminated gloves. HOW can we get owners to realize that just offering a gf products does not necessarily mean it’s TRULY gf.

I think it’s funny that Del Taco is listed as having a gluten free menu, but nothing but the shells, the toppings and the hamburger patty are gluten free. I guess if you want to put a hamburger patty on a taco shell with some lettuce and cheese you can…. give me a break. This shouldn’t even be on the list.

Miguel’s Jr. is my family’s favorite Mexican restaurant but they do not list gluten free or any other allergen information on their website 🙁

Costa Visa is fantastic. They made their entire menu minus some desserts / flour shells gf. They are also great with training their staff about cross contamination. I saw a manager watch a new employee make my tacos. When employee put my shell on grill instead of clean foil it was thrown away and the employee was explained why that was not ok. They are wonderful.

Costa Vida is fantastic for their G.F. menu. Everything on their menu is G.F. except for the flour tortillas and 2 desserts. They are well trained to avoid cross contamination and change their gloves and wash their hands before preparing my G.F. meal. I would highly recommend them.
